NewTech final conference in Bulgaria

On 16.08.2023 the final conference of the NewTech project “How to add a new dimension to current key skills in the construction industry with new generation technology and curriculum” took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. The conference gathered 57 participants from VET schools, VET centers training professions in the construction sector, universities, NGOs and Associations.
The project NewTech – “How to add a new dimension to current key skills in the construction industry with new generation technology and curriculum”, with ref. number: 2020-1-TR01-KA202-094227 is implemented by a consortium of 6 organisations, led by the coordinator Kirikkale University, Turkey (www.kku.edu.tr). The other partners involved in the project are: CIAPE – Centro Italiano Per L’apprendimento Permanente, Italy (www.ciape.it); Bosphorus Education KG, Austria (www.bosphorus-education.at); Zincirlikuyu isov Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi, Turkey (www.isov.meb.k12.tr); Sampiyon Vocational and Technical Education Center, Turkey (https://www.sampiyonkursu.com/) and European Center for Quality Ltd, Bulgaria (www.ecq-bg.com).
The event was led by Ms Milena Geleva who introduced the overall framework of the NewTech project – background of the project, project objectives, project partners, expected impact of the project. Afterwards each of the intellectual outputs of the project was presented separately stressing the usefulness and applicability fields of the result. The main outputs of the project comprise:
O1 Construction Industry Statistics
O2 New Education Programs in the Construction Industry
O3 A-Synchronous Education Module prepared for the new curriculum
O4 Virtual Reality Application (Virtual Construction Site)
The project web platform and learning system were demonstrated. The possibilities offered by the virtual reality applications for educational purposes were among the most commented aspects of the project by the event participants.
In the feedback forms from the event the participants had shared that they liked very much the organization of the event, the practical orientation of the results, the interactivity of the event and the dialogue with the audience.
