The Sustain-T workshop in Bulgaria, held on the 24th of April 2019, gathered stakeholders representing different tourism sub-sectors: tour operators and travel agencies, family hotels and companies arranging recreational activities, tourism associations and educational institutions. The workshop aimed to present and test the Sustain-T learning materials and interactive tools specifically designed for tourism micro- and small enterprises. In the morning, the workshop participants engaged with the learning materials. The project team from ECQ – Sustain-T partner from Bulgaria – presented the content of the modules and sustainability best practices. Then, the participants shared their experiences related to sustainability performance of their companies. In the afternoon, the Sustain-T self-audit, resource-mapping and ideation tools were tested. The workshop participants undertook sustainability self-assessment, analyzed resources they have available to invest in sustainability improvement, and brainstormed ideas for sole and joint sustainability initiatives.
All Sustain-T products – Learning Modules, Self-Audit, Resource-Mapping and Ideation Tools – were well received. The workshop participants considered them very useful for managers of tourism micro- and small enterprises.
The Sustain-T Project is coordinated by the Autonomous University of Barcelona and involves eight partners from Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK. For more information, please visit http://sustain-t.eu/.
