Last week members of the project teams of The Sound of Business project and external experts from the field of adult education took part in a one week pilot training course in Caltanisetta, Sicily. The main objective of the training was to test the training material in real life settings that blends the Project Cycle Management methodology, business development and rock music.
The interactive, practice oriented training provided an opportunity for the participants to share ideas, discuss and reflect on the innovative aspects of SOB training material that empowers adult people in the perspective of self-employment initiatives.
The methodology applied followed the stages suggested by PCM: programming, identification, formulation, financing, implementation and evaluation. Participants applied these stages for developing their own business ideas, from the very initial idea to its final implementation. All these steps were further backed up by the respective examples and best practices from the biggest icons of rock music, including Pink Floyd, Queen, David Bowie The Beatles etc.
The intercultural learning moments have been further strengthened through live music performances and intercultural outdoor activities.
The ideas and feedback gathered during the training will be incorporated into the training material, giving it its final shape. Once the training materials are finalized, they can be freely used for improving business and management skills and to implement self-employment initiatives with this truly unique non-formal approach based on art and music.
