Project title: Entrepreneurship education using challenge-based learning
Project acronym: T-Challenge
Reference number: 2017-1-LV01-KA202-035453
Project duration: 24 months
Project summary:
The European Commission has emphasized the need to embed entrepreneurial learning in all sectors of education including nonformal learning. Trainers and teachers have a central role, as they have a strong impact on the attainment of learners. Reflective teachers keep their practice under constant review and adjust it in the light of desired learning outcomes and of the individual needs of students. As a key competence, entrepreneurship does not necessarily involve a specific school subject. Rather, it requires a way of teaching in which experiential learning and project work have a main role.
The objectives of this project are to:
- Promote entrepreneurship education through the use of alternative pedagogical resources using ICT, at the same time as using challenge based learning
- Allow entrepreneurial learning in all sectors of education including non-formal learning
- Challenge educators to develop their own educational resources/webquests in an interdisciplinary way and share them with peers through T-Challenge Webquests Platform Network
- Promote a cross-curricular approach to subjects and, consequently, a collaborative work from educators
- Foster an entrepreneurial spirit in European citizens, able to research, select, analyze, organise and present information
To achieve these objectives, this project entails three Intellectual Outputs:
- O1: T-Challenge Webquests platform
- O2: T-Challenge ToT curriculum
- O3: T-Challenge is your challenge too! (Guideline)
The aforementioned intellectual outputs are meant to serve trainers and teachers who are the main target groups of the project. Trainees and end users of the webquests platform (O1) are considered an indirect target group of the project.
The project will result in a new approach on entrepreneurship education by providing VET trainers and teachers the necessary tools to work collaboratively and transversally, fostering a cross-curricular approach and using challenge and project based learning methodologies.
