Project summary:

The anthropogenic Climate Change is largely the result of Waste in Resource Extraction, Production and Consumption on the very large and on the very small level. Raising Awareness and Education for Families is required to make sure that Circular Economy will become adopted widely across Europe. Families are the core of any such change as the elemental pieces of society.

Aims & Objectives

  • To raise awareness and educate family member about Circular Economy issues (reuse, recycling etc.)
  • To train people in order to adopt more efficient consuming habits in terms of cost and materials us
  • To provide an understanding of the socio-economic value of the Circular Economy such as job creation , reduction in scarce raw materials and natural resources, resource efficiency, and environmental protection.

Intellectual outputs & Results

  • IO1: Comic Books Library – comic strips for children
  • IO2: WebQuest Challenges – a Compendium of Web Quest Challenges for teenagers
  • IO3: Workshop Lesson Plans – Circular Economy Workshop for parents and guardians
  • IO4: In-service Training Program& Handbook for adult educators
  • IO5: Online Learning Platform – a bespoke, fully mobile, collaborative online learning environment

Target groups

The aforementioned intellectual outputs will be of use to the following target groups:

(1) children between the ages of 6 and 12 – they can make use of IO1 which  will comprise a monthly themed comic strip that introduces some of the main ideas driving the development of the circular economy;

(2) teenagers between the ages of 13 and 16 – they can make use of IO2 which will comprise a series of challenge based educational resources that will be pitched at introductory and intermediate levels;

(3) youth between the ages of 17 to 25 – they can make use of IO2  which will comprise a continuation of the challenge based educational resources but on this occasion pitched at advanced and expert levels;

(4) parents, guardians and grandparents – they can use  IO3 which will comprise a series of workshop based, group learning exercises.

(5) adult educators who can make use of IO4 which comprises of guidance on how to work in dynamic learning environments and how to use the Family Circle products for educational purposes
