As part of the ongoing efforts to advance energy efficiency in small and medium-sised enterprises (SMEs), the LIFE DEESME 2050 project was actively represented at the LIFE Clean Energy Transition Business & Industry Contractors Meeting, held at COMET Louise, Brussels on 10-11 April, 2025.

ECQ joined the two-day meeting to showcase the project’s achievements and engage in high-level exchanges with peers and EU stakeholders. Organised by CINEA, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, the event brought together key actors from EU-funded projects focused on implementing energy audits, supporting energy cooperation, financing instruments, and policy alignment.

DEESME 2050

During the event, ECQ shared the project’s support for SMEs in implementing energy efficiency measures through the DEESME methodology and multiple benefits approach. The DEESME 2050 project stood out in thematic discussions on:

  • Energy audits and energy management systems
  • Access to sustainable finance for SMEs
  • Creation of business communities and regional green industrial clusters
  • Key Takeaways from the Event

Breakout sessions focused on strengthening cooperation among projects to foster effective replication and upscaling of successful solutions. CINEA emphasised the importance of effective communication and contract management for LIFE CET projects.

Strengthening Networks

Participation in this meeting strengthened DEESME 2050’s visibility across the LIFE community and fostered new collaboration opportunities with projects. Ms. Marinova also took part in the open space sessions, contributing ideas on aligning financing tools with the needs of SMEs engaging in energy transformation. This engagement aligns with the DEESME 2050 project’s objectives to create sustainable change by embedding energy efficiency in SME strategies and expanding the reach of its methodologies across Europe.
