YouthStart European Entrepreneurship Award 2017

European Center for Quality was one of the sponsors and partners of the YouthStart European Entrepreneurship Award 2017 held for the first time in Bulgaria! The event took place in Sofia in the period 23.11.-25.11.2017. Over 150 guests from 9 European countries joined the Entrepreneurship Summit & European Entrepreneurship Award. There were student teams from Bulgaria, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Luxemburg, Spain, Albania, the Netherlands and Belgium.

The event was organized very professionally. Students competed in 2 categories – “Idea Challenge” and “Real Market Challenge”. The real market category included the more matured ideas that have been worked out in a more sophisticated way and have been presented already in some other entrepreneurship fields (e. g. competitions, sort of a fair of student businesses, published article, etc.). The students had many creative ideas presented in an interactive way.  Some of the business ideas included platform for school bullying prevention, production of concrete, production of energy by fitness facilities, automated pills distributor for elderly people, designer clothing, etc.

At the event ECQ had a special exhibition stand where the company presented informational materials about current and recent projects. Also a one-hour workshop on creativity techniques applicable at the classroom was conducted by Ms Margarita Vassileva, member of ECQ team. On the practical workshop were demonstrated SCAMPER and Reverse Brainstorming, participants also had to reflect together on some brain teasers. In the afternoon, Ms Vassileva took part as a mentor during the presentation of students’ projects for the programme “Changemaker”.

Working on a long-term relationship with YouthStart and the National High School in Finance and Business, ECQ is looking forward for the next challenge!
